Ground coffee can go off really quickly if left in the open air. We recommend storing it in the Ziploc bag or an airtight container. Always keep it sealed, in a dry cupboard and we don’t recommend the fridge or freezer.

We source our coffee from all over the world, through brokers and direct relationships that we trust. The three main regions we buy from are Africa, Central and Southern America. At the moment, this is where the best quality coffee is coming from.
Speciality coffee is coffee that has been graded using a scale called ‘Q grading’, and scores above 80 out of 100. We only buy specially coffee and then taste it multiple times to make sure it hits our internal standards. Speciality coffee has limited nasty defects and awesome farmers.
We taste it over and over again… There’s lots of coffee out there that’s claims to be great and has a price tag to match. But here at stacks we don’t worry about what anyone else thinks, we have some of the best tasters in the country! Only coffee that passes our standards and we think people will love, hits our shelves

We generally don’t roast dark. Beyond a certain point of roasting all of the flavour is stripped away and what’s left is burnt and roasted flavour notes. Some people like this but it’s really an injustice to any good coffee.
If you like flavours that are more chocolatey, nutty, caramel generally pick coffees from central and south American. We’re thinking Brazil, Colombia, Peru.
All of your coffees and ethically sourced and sustainable for the farmers who produce them. Our coffee from PERU is part of a certified program empowering women through women only co-operative farms. It’s totally kick ass.
We don’t go through official certification because it’s expensive and full of bureaucracy that keeps us from roasting more coffee!!!
Specially coffee pays farmers up to 20 times more for their work Vs mass produced coffee. Speciality coffee is often the only viable revenue stream for families other than growing drugs.
We roast in small batches… Every time we roast it’s monitored by our master roaster who visually inspects every batch and times the drop to perfection. Then we taste it to make sure it taste just like the last cup.
At Stacks we believe it’s all about tasting and we believe we have the best tasters in the industry. We find people pay for expensive coffee all the time that we taste and find it’s totally meadicore. We don’t do that. We taste and discover the best coffees for ourselves.
